FAQ's
Who can take private lessons? How much are they? Any gymnast at Black Diamond can take private lessons in gymnastics, tumbling, cheerleading, trampoline/Big Air or sport conditioning with the instructor of their choice. Privates are arranged and scheduled with the front office. Private lessons are usually one hour. The charge ranges any where from $35-65 an hour depending on the instructor. If you are not currently registered at Black Diamond, there is a $30 registration fee. *A registration/waiver form must be completed by all students not currently taking classes at Black Diamond before the first private lesson.
Do you offer sibling discounts? Yes! We offer discounts for families with three or more siblings enrolled in our programs.
What is the minimum amount of students required to open a separate class for a specific group? Four students is the minimum number of participants necessary to arrange a specific class and time - pending instructor and facility availability. Unless other arrangements are made, Black Diamond reserves the right to add students to the class.
What is the Development Program? The developmental program is designed to prepare young gymnasts for the competitive track. These classes are by invitation only, and require a higher level of commitment by the gymnast and family. These classes are structured with emphasis on discipline and shaping the gymnasts' basic skills through conditioning, flexibility and strength exercises. The classes include Mighty Mites, Bronze, Silver, and Dynamites.
How does my child progress through the levels? Here at Black Diamond we use proficiency records to track your child's progress. We welcome any and all questions. Please feel free to talk to or leave a note for your instructor.
Do you offer open gym? Throughout the school year we do offer a preschool open gym during which children ages 5 years and under may participate in gym activities with an adult partner. We also offer Parents' Night Out on predetermined Friday evenings for ages 5 - 12 years during which the children have an opportunity to experience supervised gymnastics and play in addition to crafts, games and snacks.
Do you require Drop Notice? We require a 4 week written notice prior to your drop date. These forms are located at the front desk.
What are your Instructor Qualifications? All staff members are nationally safety certified. They are all either USA Gymnastics instructor or professional members. In addition to their extensive initial training, all staff members are required to participate in a minimum of 3 hours of professional development each month.
